According to TAACHCO’s Public Relations Department, on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, Mohsen Tarztalab, Head of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA), visited the Forough Kavir Solar Power Plant in Yazd Province to review the progress of its construction and commissioning during a one-day trip to the region.
Speaking on the sidelines of the visit, the Deputy Minister of Energy stated:
“The installed capacity of renewable power plants in Iran has now exceeded 3,200 MW, and we expect this figure to surpass 4,000 MW by next month.”
During the visit, Saeed Bastani, Chief Executive Officer of TAACHCO, told reporters:
“The total investment in the power plant, including the associated transmission line and substation infrastructure, amounts to approximately USD 50 million. Currently, 40 MW of the plant’s capacity has been commissioned and connected to the grid. An additional 20 MW will become operational next month, while the remaining 40 MW is scheduled to be commissioned in May.”
It is worth noting that the Forough Kavir Solar Power Plant has been developed by Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company in the Khidrabad region of Yazd Province. Upon completion, it will be the largest solar power plant in Yazd Province and one of the largest renewable energy facilities in Iran.
