According to the Public Relations Department of Chadormalu Energy Development Company, the first phase of the 100-MW Forough Kavir Chadormalu Solar Power Plant, with a capacity of 40 MW, was officially commissioned tomorrow in the presence of the Honorable Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade (IMT).
Speaking on the occasion, Saeed Bastani, CEO of Chadormalu Energy Development Company, stated that the first phase of the Forough Kavir Chadormalu Solar Power Plant in Yazd was officially commissioned following an investment of more than €50 million, financed through the internal resources of Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company.
He noted that the plant is expected to generate approximately 200 million kWh of clean electricity annually and prevent the emission of 115,000 tons of greenhouse gases each year.
Referring to the commissioning ceremony, which was held during the Ten-Day Fajr Celebrations in the presence of the Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, Bastani said: “As the largest solar power plant in Yazd Province, this project represents a significant milestone in the development of renewable energy in the country and can serve as a model for advancing toward a more sustainable future.”
He further noted that the project represents an investment of more than €50 million, adding: “All financial resources required for the construction of this power plant have been provided through the internal financial capacity of Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company. The project’s return on investment has also been envisaged pursuant to Article 12 of the Law on Removing Barriers to Competitive Production and Improving the Country’s Financial System.”
The CEO of Chadormalu Energy Development Company stated that upon completion, the plant will supply more than 200 million kWh of clean electricity annually to the national grid. “In addition to generating clean electricity, this level of production will result in annual savings of approximately 55 million cubic meters of fossil fuels and 45,000 cubic meters of water, while preventing the emission of 115,000 tons of greenhouse gases,” he said.
Bastani also emphasized that through the implementation of such projects, Chadormalu is not only contributing to meeting the energy requirements of the country’s major industries, but is also establishing the necessary infrastructure for the transition toward green steel production and the realization of sustainable development in the country.
