Khazrabad III 100 MW Solar Power Plant Project
The Second 100 MW Chadormalu Solar Power Plant Project is being implemented in the Khazrabad area of Yazd Province, with Chadormalu Energy Development Company (TACHCO) serving as the project owner, in cooperation with the National Development Fund of Iran and under the executive management of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA). The project aims to expand renewable power generation capacity, enhance energy supply security, and reduce dependence on fossil fuels. It represents a significant step toward developing clean energy infrastructure and supporting sustainable industrial production.
With a nominal capacity of 100 MW, the power plant is being developed under an EPC+F (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Financing) contract, with a projected investment of USD 50 million and an estimated construction period of 12 months. The project design предусматри the installation of 143,360 solar panels, each rated at 715–730 watts. Once operational, the plant is expected to strengthen Yazd Province’s energy infrastructure, help meet growing electricity demand, and reduce pressure on the national power grid during peak consumption periods.
One of the key benefits of the project is its potential to supply electricity to approximately 50,000 households, helping address the energy needs of consumers across Yazd Province and reduce power outages during peak demand. Furthermore, solar power generation and reduced reliance on fossil fuels can help industrial facilities maintain operational continuity during periods of natural gas supply constraints and energy imbalances, thereby enhancing the resilience of industrial and manufacturing sectors.
